human rights person
In SST we have been learning about human rights.
What are human rights? human rights are rights to all human beings what ever nationality, place of residence, sex, national or ethnic origin, religion, language or any other status. We are all equally entitled to our human rights without discrimination.
We were also asked to pick a person who fought for human rights , and i picked Nelson Mandela. Nelson Mandela was an anti-apartheid activist. So he fought for people who were disadvantage by the system of racial segregation. Nelson Mandela became a civil rights leader, leading many against the Apartheid government.

Our Class Marae
Yesterday Whaea Monika, whaea Kerry and whaea Tara came to our school, and we were asked to make a pou to put into our VR marae.
We used sculpt GL, paint 3D and tinkercad. We made our pous on sculpt GL and we had to put something important to us, or something that represents us or our family. The pou that stands in the middle of marae ( the heart ) one of our class mates made a pou that represents all of 9M students and our SST teacher.
We used paint 3D to write our pepeha and to put a border around it and make it look 3D.
Last we used tinkercad to make trees and a gate to put around our marae.
We also used a green screen to take photos of ourselves and put the photos into our VR world.
we had lots of fun creating and making our marae and pous.

Migration in New Zealand
Over the years a lot of people have migrated to New Zealand from India, China, Afghanistan and many other places. Some of the reasons they migrate to New Zealand are better schooling, more work opportunities. And some of the sad reasons they come here is because of war, not enough food, not enough work.
