In English we have been learning about poetry. we have learn't about similes, metaphors, personification and now currently working on sound devices onomatopoeia.
What is a simile. A simile is a figure of speech that makes a comparisons showing similarities between two different things. Similes also use the words like or as.
what is a metaphor. A metaphor is a figure of speech that is used to make a comparison between to things that aren't alike but do have something in common.
What is personification. Personification is a figure of speech that a human qualities is given to a non-living thing.
What is onomatopoeia. Onomatopoeia is defined as a word which imitated the natural sound of a thing.
Hi moana, my name is Mahuta from Kawakawa primary school. I really like how you have set out the different types of poetry's you use in poems. My favorite one is metaphors because A metaphor is a figure of speech that is used to make a comparison between to things that aren't alike but do have something in common. Maybe you could add in what one you liked learning about most.
