In English we have been learning about poetry. we have learn't about similes, metaphors, personification and now currently working on sound devices onomatopoeia.
What is a simile. A simile is a figure of speech that makes a comparisons showing similarities between two different things. Similes also use the words like or as.
what is a metaphor. A metaphor is a figure of speech that is used to make a comparison between to things that aren't alike but do have something in common.
What is personification. Personification is a figure of speech that a human qualities is given to a non-living thing.
What is onomatopoeia. Onomatopoeia is defined as a word which imitated the natural sound of a thing.

Migration in New Zealand
Over the years a lot of people have migrated to New Zealand from India, China, Afghanistan and many other places. Some of the reasons they migrate to New Zealand are better schooling, more work opportunities. And some of the sad reasons they come here is because of war, not enough food, not enough work.

Pink Shirt Day
Pink Shirt Day is a day were everyone stands against bullying all around the globe. People mainly wear Pink Shirts to symbolise a stand against bullying. Our school celebrated that day and all teachers and students were asked to wear a pink shirt and participate in all the activities. There were games and a sausage sizzle. In our class we made posters and here are mine.

On Friday the 14th it was pink shirt day. Pink shirt day is about working together to stop bullying.
Our school celebrate that day. The students and teachers wore pink shirts and we played games to win tickets to get a free sausage.
